Roy Blunts wins re-election to U.S. Senate
RESULTS: Kander has conceded to Blunt in the race for U.S. Senate. He was hoping to oust longtime U.S. Senate incumbent Roy Blunt in the race for Missouri Senator.
ORIGINAL STORY: The campaign of Jason Kander, Missouri’s Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, is holding its final campaign event Tuesday in Kansas City.
Kander, currently the Missouri secretary of state, hopes to nab the office currently held by Republican Roy Blunt.
Before being elected secretary of state in 2012, Kander served four years in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Apart from touting his decade of military experience, Kander’s campaign frequently criticized Blunt for his longevity in politics and his connection to lobbyist family members.
One campaign advertisement got national attention when it showed Kander field-stripping an assault rifle and challenging Blunt to do the same.
