Koster concedes to Greitens in race for Missouri Governor

RESULTS: Democratic Candidate Chris Koster conceded in the race for Missouri governor Tuesday.

Republican opponent Eric Greitens won 53 percent of the vote with 75 percent of the precincts reporting.

ORIGINAL STORY: Chris Koster is finishing the final day of his campaign for governor in St. Louis Tuesday.

The Democratic candidate is vying for the governor’s seat against Republican Candidate Eric Greitens who has never previously held a political office.

Koster’s watch party will be held at the Chase Park Plaza in the Khorassan Ballroom starting at 7:00 p.m.

The Democratic candidate is currently wrapping up his second term as the Missouri Attorney General.

Koster has previously served as a Republican state senator for the 31st District of Missouri before changing his party affiliation when elected attorney general. He has also held positions as the Cass County prosecutor and the assistant attorney general.

He has been endorsed by several groups that traditionally support Republican candidates including the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund and the Missouri Farm Bureau.
