Rolla man flown to hospital after I-70 crash

Two people were taken to the hospital after an early morning crash on I-70 in Cooper County Saturday.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a semi truck crashed into a car that was improperly parked on the interstate.

The semi then went off the right side the road, hit a traffic post and a guardrail before overturning.

The driver, Gregory Long, 44, was flown to University Hospital with serious injuries. His passenger, Madelyn Long, 32, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Troopers said no one was in the car that was parked on the highway.

Nine volunteer firefighters from the Cooper County Fire Protection District assisted with the crash.
