Marginal Risk for Severe Weather Wednesday Night

There is a Marginal risk for severe weather this evening and tonight for areas mainly west of US 63 and north of I-70. A cold front will trigger storms in the afternoon that could blossom and become strong to severe by evening. The main threat with the line of storms will be heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. The stronger storms could produce damaging winds of 50 mph and large hail 1″ in diameter or greater. Frequent lightning and 50 mph winds can cause power outages. Storms will weaken overnight as this line tracks south of I-70 towards the Ozarks and I-44 where these areas are not under a Marginal Risk. Rain looks to taper off through 3AM-4AM overnight east of HWY 54. Hard to believe we’re talking about a low risk for severe storms on November 2nd!
