Monday Afternoon, October 31

TODAY: Mostly cloudy skies will still around through the early afternoon, keeping highs slightly cooler than anticipated. A southerly breeze gets kicked in today, although areas west of US 63 look to have the better chance for sustained winds near 15 mph with gusts of 20-30 mph. Areas east look to have sustained winds under 12 mph today. This will keep temperatures cooler than expected with still warm but pleasant highs in the upper 70s.

TONIGHT: For trick or treating tonight, temperatures will be mild in the low 70s under a partly cloudy sky. After midnight skies look to be mostly clear. South winds will become light and temperatures will likely stay 20 degrees above normal in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Tuesday will be mostly sunny, dry, and warmer with the high sitting in the lower 80s. Our next chance of rain moves in next Wednesday morning north of I-70. An approaching cold front will trigger storms during the day with storms arriving in Columbia by 2PM-5PM. Areas north of HWY 24 could potentially see rainfall totals near 1″ while areas along I-70 could see totals closer to a 0.50″ to 0.75″. These storms, possibly strong with a small severe chance, will persist till Thursday morning closer to I-44. Conditions will be dry and much cooler for the remainder of the week and next weekend.
