Man arrested after colliding with stopped vehicle, injuring 3 people

A man was arrested Sunday morning after a vehicle collision on Stewart Road and Providence Road.

Brent Beamer was traveling South on Providence Road when he collided with the rear end of a stopped vehicle, causing significant damage.

There were three people inside of the stopped vehicle. One sustained significant injury and the two others reported physical injury. When officers made contact with Beamer, they detected a strong odor of an illegal substance coming from his breath. Beamer refused to complete a field sobriety test or a preliminary breath sample.

Officers determined Beamer was operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated. Beamer was arrested for three counts of second degree assault with a total bond of $13,500 and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner with a bond of $500.
