More than 1,400 residents were without power in northwest Columbia Sunday afternoon

ABC 17 News is working to find out what caused a large power outage for Columbia Water and Light customers Sunday afternoon.

According to the company’s outage map, the outage happened at 2:35 p.m. and affected approximately 1,421 customers north of I-70 from North Rebel Drive to North Providence Road.

One resident on Parkside Drive tells ABC 17 News their water wasn’t working during the outage as well.

Power was fully restored around 3:30 p.m.

ABC 17 News has reached out to Columbia Water and Light officials for more information on the outage.
