Lincoln University provost to take leave of absence
Dr. Said Sewell, vice president of academic affairs and provost at Lincoln University, will take an extended leave of absence, according to a letter to the executive committee from college president Dr. Kevin Rome.
The letter says Sewell’s hiatus is for “personal reasons.”
The announcement came after an 88-18 faculty senate vote of no confidence in Sewell’s leadership.
“(Rome) indicated that the plan is for Sewell to return at some point,” said faculty senate chair Dr. Bryan Salmons.
Salmons told ABC 17 News that an interim vice president of academic affairs will be appointed Tuesday and that Rome will meet Nov. 10 with the Missouri National Education Association.
