Five children among nine total rescued in FBI sex trafficking initiative
The FBI’s Kansas City division says five children were among the nine victims rescued from a recent initiative targeting underage sex trafficking.
“Operation Cross Country X” was apparently conducted in eight cities throughout Kansas and Missouri.
The FBI’s Kansas City division says it took place from October 13th through the 16th.
It says the initiative ended in the arrests of 26 people, who now face possible state and federal charges.
The division says the operation is all part of the FBI’s innocence lost initiative, which started in 2003.
In all, the program has rescued more than 6,100 children.
