Eldon man serving 10 years in prison for violating probation

An Eldon man will now spend 10 years in prison after violating his probation for two counts of second degree burglary. Robert J. Cody Jr. was sentenced on Oct. 6 in Miller County Circuit.

Cody pled guilty in 2014 before the current prosecutor took office. He was sentenced to ten years in prison on each count, but the sentences were suspended and he was placed on a five year probation.

Cody was ordered to pay $18,000 to his burglary victims. During the course of his probation, Cody was accused of probation violations such as burglary, domestic assault, arson, and the possession of a firearm. Cody did not pay his victims as ordered by the court.
