Marginal Risk for Severe Weather Wednesday Afternoon

A strong cold front will bring chance for storms during the day on Wednesday that could bring marginally large hail and damaging winds. Areas from HWY 54 and southeast are under the Marginal (low) risk Wednesday mainly from 1PM-7PM. There will be plenty of wind shear during the day. Peeks of sun will be needed in the afternoon for to allow instability to get storms going.

With the frontal passage there will be gusting winds from the northwest from 12PM-2PM. Temperatures will plummet on Wednesday night with the coolest temperatures so far this season. By Thursday morning, light winds and clear skies will help temperatures to dip to the mid to upper 30s north of the Missouri River while areas south near the Lake of the Ozarks and closer to I-44 will see temperatures in the low 40s.
