62-year-old dies after rollover crash on I-70 near Callaway Livestock Center

UPDATE: The driver involved in the crash, 62-year-old Michael Trachsel, was pronounced dead on scene.

A crash report form the Missouri State Highway patrol shows the vehicle Trachsel was driving went off the road, swerved back onto the road and eventually crashed and overturned.

The report shows Trachsel was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.

This is Troop F’s second fatal crash so far this month and 59th for the year 2016.

ORIGINAL STORY: Lanes were back open just before 9:00 p.m. after a rollover crash on I-70 Monday night.

The crash happened near Callaway Livestock Center.

The vehicle appeared to have been traveling westbound when it rolled over near the 155 mile marker.

Several Missouri State Highway Patrol units were on scene working the crash. The road was closed for at least 20 minutes starting at 8:30 p.m. while a helicopter landed for emergency assistance.

ABC 17 News was told at least one person was injured, but it was not clear if the person was taken by the helicopter or ambulance.
