UPDATE: Troopers still searching for driver after crash on I-70

UPDATE: According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, as of Monday afternoon, they are still looking for the driver of the car that was parked in the driving lane. They are confident the driver was not injured, but simply walked away from the first accident scene.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is looking for a driver after two wrecks on eastbound Interstate 70.

Troopers said the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the west side of the Missouri River Bridge near Rocheport in Cooper County.

Two vehicles were seen on the Missouri river bridge. Vehicle one was in the drivers lane, from a previous crash, causing vehicle two to crash into vehicle one. Both the driver, 22 year-old Taylor Watts of Springfield, and passenger, 22 year-old Chelsey Hyde of Columbia were moderately injured

Missouri State Highway Patrol used their helicopter to help search for the person, but were unable to locate them. Cooper County Fire Protection District personnel were on ground searching, and in boats on the river, but were unable to find the driver.
