All lanes reopen after pedestrian hit on Providence in Columbia

All lanes of Providence Road in central Columbia are open again after a pedestrian was hit Friday morning.

It happened on Providence around 12:30 Friday morning.

Columbia police told ABC 17 the pedestrian did not suffer life threatening injuries, however they were unsure of the extent of the victim’s injuries.

No one was arrested following the crash.

ABC17 crews were on scene who confirmed both northbound lanes of traffic on Providence were closed for about 20 minutes.

We will continue talking with police for any further updates on the victim and the cause of the crash.

Since May, ABC17 has covered at least five other pedestrian related crashes in Columbia.
