Thursday Morning, October 6

TODAY: Storms are possible north of I-70 and west of US 63 through noon. There is a slight chance this line will fill in across southeast Mid-Missouri by early afternoon. There is a Slight Risk for severe storms today west of US 63 for damaging 60 mph winds and quarter size hail. If we can get some sun in the afternoon this will help fuel tonight’s storms. We’ll warm to the low 80s with a south wind at 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: The early evening looks dry before a line of storms increases by 10PM near the counties of Chariton and Saline. Storms overnight will work their way east, weakening into the early morning hours on Friday. Storms west of US 63 have the better potential to produce heavy rainfall, large hail, and damaging winds.

EXTENDED: Storms Friday morning looks to taper off through 8AM in southeast Mid-Missouri. The high for the day will occur in the early morning hours . Temperatures will be descending throughout the day leaving a cool fall night for Friday night football. As of now, 1″ to 3″ of rainfall looks possible for areas west of US 63 by Friday morning with areas east closer to 0.50″ to 0.75″. Cooler, dry weather moves in for the weekend with daytime highs in the upper 60s Saturday to low 70s Sunday and nights in the lower 40s . For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack
