Teen wanted for North St. Louis County murder arrested in Columbia

A 16 year-old male juvenile wanted for a North St. Louis County murder was located and arrested in Columbia Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Columbia Police Department, they received information September 30 about the juvenile from the North County Police Department. The juvenile was believed to be traveling back and forth to the Columbia area.

Wednesday, Columbia Police Department Street Crimes Detectives observed an individual who appeared to match the description of the wanted juvenile standing in front of a residence in the 1400 block of Greensboro Drive. Before CPD Street Crimes Detectives could contact the juvenile, he entered the residence. Columbia Police Department Vice Narcotics and Organized Crime Detectives established surveillance in the area and the juvenile was taken into custody when he stepped out of the residence just after 4p.m..

The juvenile was turned over to the North County Police Department and transported back to their jurisdiction.
