Cooler, dry weather moves in for the weekend

Winds will shift to the north behind the cold front which brought showers and t-storms to Mid-Missouri Thursday night. These winds will send cooler, drier air into the area Friday and for the weekend.

Showers will quickly end Friday morning, leaving us with increasing sunshine through the day, a northerly breeze to 12 mph and cooler temperatures. We will only reach the low to mid 60s briefly before dropping into the 50s Friday evening. Expect chilly but dry weather for the evening high school football games with diminishing winds.

Temperatures fall into the lower 40s by Saturday morning with patchy fog possible in valleys. Overall, the weekend looks like a typical fall weekend with cool nights and mornings and mild afternoons with low humidity and abundant sunshine. Winds will be light Saturday, shifting to the south by Sunday which will bring temperatures up into the lower 70s to end the weekend.
