Jefferson City sinkhole, stormwater project set to begin Monday

Excavation is set to begin next Monday on a stormwater project in Jefferson City where a sinkhole has been growing for a year.

ABC 17 News reported on the sinkhole at Forest Hill Avenue and Forest Drive. It opened after a stormwater pipe collapsed, and has grown significantly.

Work will get underway at 8:00 a.m. with crews closing parts of the two roads as well as Meadow Lane.

According to Jefferson City’s Department of Public Works, work is expected to be completed in late November.
