Deputies: man rammed patrol car while drunk during chase
One driver remains in custody, after he is accused of ramming a deputy’s vehicle during a car chase while he was drunk.
The Callaway County sheriff’s department was called to Larry Court near Highway NN, about 15 minutes south of Fulton. They believe James Wills hit another vehicle there around 2:30 in the morning.
About two hours later, they found Wills and his passenger, Jordan Raps, off County Road 202, by Highway 54 and HH, just north of the city. That is when deputies say Wills backed up his vehicle, hitting a patrol car, before getting out and threatening to ram it again.
Both suspects were held at gunpoint before Wills tried to run away again. Raps has already bonded out of jail. He was on parole for drugs.
Wills was involved in a different pursuit with the sheriff’s office just last year.
