Monday Afternoon, October 3

TODAY: Clouds will steadily decrease through the afternoon hours, as the stubborn low from last week lifts off to the northeast. Thanks to the low no longer having an influence in our weather, winds have shifted out of the southeast. These winds will warm us up into the mid 70s today, with winds out of the southeast under 10 mph.

TONIGHT: We’ll be dry overnight with a southeasterly wind at 7-10 mph. The low will be warmer than the past few nights sitting in the upper 50s accompanied with partly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will continue to warm till mid-week as sunny skies and warm air moving in rise high temperatures near 80 degrees. A slight chance of rain and thunderstorms begins Tuesday evening with the best chance of rain on Thursday this week. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather west of US 63 on Tuesday evening and for a good portion of Mid-Missouri north of I-44 on Wednesday. The rain chance will continue till Friday evening with mostly cloudy skies before a dry and cool weekend. As of now, a good 1″ to 2″ of rainfall looks possible for areas west of US 63 by Friday night with areas east closer to 0.50″ to 0.75″.
