Deputies arrest man for failing to register as a sex offender

Boone County deputies arrested a man Monday for reportedly failing to register as a sex offender.

Deputies searched a home Monday morning on Ripley Street and arrested 54-year-old Gregory Moore.

They said he had been convicted in 1996 in St. Louis County of statutory sodomy involving a 16-year-old. The Sheriff’s Department said it recently discovered Moore had never registered as a sex offender in Boone County.

While searching his home, deputies also reportedly found methamphetamine and marijuana.

Moore is in the Boone County jail. His bond has not yet been set.
