Woman found dead on I-44 in Phelps County
The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Phelps County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the death of a woman found on the side of the road.
Phelps County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the 171 West bound mile marker, on Interstate 44, near Rolla and St. Robert for a report of a woman lying on the side of the road.
When officers arrived they located a deceased white female, in her eighteen to twenty years of age, lying on the shoulder.
Investigators say she was wearing a blue and red colored sun dress and flip flops. The female had dark hair, with blue hair dye. She had several tattoos, and a large scar on her left inner thigh.
According to authorities, the female has not been identified.
