Officers hear possible gunshot near Club Vogue
Columbia police tell ABC 17 News they heard a single gunshot from the parking lot of Club Vogue.
Officers say there were already there to help with crowd control when they heard the shot. Officers say they then saw a car speeding away from the area. They could not confirm if that car was connected to the shot they heard or if happened to leaving at the same time.
Officers say they did not find a shell casing and no one reported being hit by the shot they believe they heard.
This is not the first time police have been on scene at Club Vogue when they heard gun shots.
In July, officers were helping clear the crowd when they heard about a dozen gunshots coming from nearby Coats Street.
They found multiple shell casings on the scene. They were also told about a gunshot victim who went to the hospital shortly after. When they spoke to the victim, he told officers it was from the shooting on Coats.
Since January 1, there have been at least four calls of shots fired or shots heard at Club Vogue and nearby North Boulevard and Coats Street. In total, there have been at least 150 calls to those three locations.
