Technical issues fixed at Roots N Blues N BBQ
UPDATE 10/1: Roots N Blues N BBQ organizer Richard King said there was no internet issues at the festival Saturday.
King said staff preprinted the will call tickets so people didn’t have to wait for the computer when they got to the event.
He said Friday night’s long lines may have also been because everyone has to have a wristband put on their first day at Roots N Blues.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival kicked off Friday, but not without some stumbling blocks.
Technical difficulties halted some people from picking up their tickets.
“I’ve gone every year for 10 years and it’s always been a good time,” said festival goer John Hennagir. “But I just feel like I wasted all night and missed the bands I really wanted to see tonight. So it was really disappointing .”
ABC 17 News spoke with one event goer who came from Denver to the event.
Cynthia Barnes said she waited an hour and a half in line, but once she got to the front, the agent told her they were unable to print tickets due to a glitch in the system.
“We stood in line an hour and a half with no notice,” Barnes said. “And they’re computers were down because, obviously, they didn’t segregate their WI-FI.”
Barnes said she was offered no refund and was unable to see the show.
ABC 17 News spoke with the event organizer Richard King. He said the event did experience an internet glitch with their server, but everything is working again and is resolved. Tomorrow they will be printing all tickets beforehand, and getting a new server.
King said the crowds Friday night were the largest in 10 years and believes that had something to do with why the systems were slow.
As far as any complaints, King said they will take them case by case.
