Man arrested after leading authorities on a multi-county chase over a month ago

On Wednesday, the Boone and Callaway County Sheriffs Department arrested Travis Crutchfield, 38, after more than a month of looking for him.

The Callaway County Sheriffs department and the MUSTANG drug task force had a drug related search warrant for a house in the 2900 block of Emerald Lake Drive in Callaway County. When deputies entered the house, they found methamphetamine and marijuana. They also found Crutchfield inside the residence.

ABC 17 News first brought you news of Crutchfield back in August after he led authorities on a multi-county chase. During the chase, Crutchfield drove into a Callaway County cornfield, and escaped authorities on foot.

During Wednesday’s search warrant, Crutchfield tried to run away from deputies and resisted arrest. However, he was taken into custody.

Authorities also found a reported missing 16-year-old juvenile from Moberly in the house, who was also taken into custody.

Crutchfield has been wanted for multiple Boone County warrants including narcotics, assault, property damage, trespassing, resisting arrest, and traffic offenses.

Crutchfield is currently in the Boone County Jail and the investigation is ongoing.
