Shooting in northeast Columbia sends one person to the hospital

Columbia Police were called to Isherwood and Pioneer Drive around 8 p.m. Saturday night for reports of shots fired.

Police said two people were driving near the intersection when they were shot at multiple times.

A 58-year-old man inside the car was hit by the gunfire. The other person in the car was not injured and was able to drive the victim to the hospital. CPD said he went into surgery immediately with life threatening injuries.

Right now police said they have no suspect information. It’s unclear if the suspect or suspects were shooting from inside or outside of a car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
