Tribune Publishing sold after 115 years of local ownership

It was announced Friday morning that Tribune Publishing Company, the publisher of the Columbia Daily Tribune had been sold to Gatehouse Media.

The Columbia Daily Tribune announced the ownership change Friday morning on it’s website. According to the article, Gatehouse Media operates 14 daily newspapers in Missouri including the Moberly Monitor-Index, Boonville Daily News, and the Mexico Ledger. All employees, with the exception of Andy and Russell Waters will remain employed by Gatehouse.

Details of the purchase have yet to be released, and the sale is expected to be finalized October 1st.
