Huntsville teen charged with making terrorist threat

A Huntsville teen was charged with making a terrorist threat on Thursday.

Thomas Cockrell,19, was arrested on Tuesday when parents from the Westran school district started calling the Randolph County sheriff’s office.

Parents said that Cockrell had told people, “Wouldn’t it be funny if that happened here?” Cockrell was referencing the drawings he had of people dying. Authorities also found a rifle in Cockrell’s possession, which he claimed he sold to his brother a few days ago.

The principal at Westran High School considered a temporary lockdown if Cockrell wasn’t taken into custody.
