Wednesday afternoon, September 21

TODAY: Another warm and muggy pattern is in the works for this afternoon. Dew points look to remain high along and north of I-70 making it feel very muggy. It looks to be a tad less humid for those closer to Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s to near 90 with heat indices in the upper 90s north of I-70 and low 90s south. Skies will remain mostly sunny skies with winds under 8 mph from the south.

TONIGHT: Areas south of I-70 looks to stay mostly clear. Areas north may have more mid level and high level clouds this evening and overnight. Winds will remain from the south, keeping temperatures 10 degrees above normal in the mid 60s.

EXTENDED: Mid-Missouri will stay dry through the end of the week with daytime temperatures in the upper 80s through Friday. There is an isolated storm chance west of HWY 63 Saturday but most areas will stay dry and warm. A storm system will move into Mid-Missouri on Sunday bringing a better opportunity for thunderstorms from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning of next week. Temperatures will reach the low to mid 80s Sunday. Next week looks to bring normal late September temperatures with highs returning to the mid to upper 70s, with nights falling to the 50s starting Tuesday.
