Boone County man charged, but at large after police say he shot at a neighbor

UPDATE 9/21: ABC 17 News checked with police Wednesday who say they have not arrested Majikwon Morales.

Police say they responded to a “try to locate” in the 2000 block of Newton Drive just after 5:00 Tuesday. Officers say they cleared the response with no report. It’s unclear if this response is connected to Monday’s shooting.

ORIGINAL: On Monday afternoon, authorities were dispatched to 2001 Newton Drive to respond to a shooting.

Two witnesses observed Majikwon Morales and another man arguing back and forth while the man was at his mailbox.

Morales then shot at the man and went inside his own residence.

Morales was been charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action and the unlawful use of weapons.

He has a cash bond set at $75,000.00.
