Two vehicle crash on northbound Hwy 63 causing delays to MO River Bridge

UPDATE 8:01am: Crews have now cleared this crash and traffic is moving again.

ORIGINAL: A crash is impacting traffic on northbound Highway 63 right now near Jefferson City.

It happened around 6:45am Tuesday morning just north of the connector from Jefferson City to Columbia.

Our ABC 17 News crews on scene say two vehicles were involved in the crash and say one vehicle sustained extensive damage.

They say emergency crews had blocked one lane of traffic on the road and say the crash was causing a back up to the Missouri River Bridge. Our crews tell us authorities will reopen the road any minute now.

Authorities on scene told ABC 17 News one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and say the other driver was uninjured.

It’s unclear what caused the crash. ABC 17 News will update this story as we learn more.
