Mother gets life in prison for her toddler’s death

ABC 17 News confirmed a mother has been sentenced to life in prison for her role in the death of her 3 year-old son.

Jamie Litton pleaded guilty on Monday before her sentencing for second-degree murder. The Morgan County sheriff’s office says Litton helped hide the crime from deputies, which was initially reported as a staged hit and run death on Highway 135.

Litton’s former live-in boyfriend, Thomas Presley, received the same punishment with no chance for parole in March of 2015, for beating Blake Litton to death in February 2012 in their Stover home.

The pathologist testified at Presley’s trial that Blake eventually died of internal bleeding in his brain and liver.
