23-year-old man killed in Cole County crash

A 23-year-old man is dead after a crash in Cole County Saturday.

It happened just after 10:00 Saturday night on US 54 eastbound at Cassidy Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the vehicle 23-year-old Cameron Boersig was driving left the road several times before eventually striking a guardrail.

The vehicle apparently then returned to the road and Boersig was thrown from the vehicle.

Troopers say the vehicle kept going before eventually stopping on the west bound side of the road.

Boersig was pronounced dead on the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

It’s unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The highway patrol says this is Troop F’s 5th fatal crash this month and 47th for the year.
