Broken utility pole closes part of Columbia street

Part of Holly Avenue near Oakland Gravel Road was closed Saturday morning for crews to repair a utility pole.

Boone County Joint Communications sent a Nixle alert about the closure around 6:15 a.m.

The closure was between Andy and Norbury Drives.

Our crews on scene saw utility workers using a chain saw on the pole to make it easier to replace.

The city crews used equipment to hold up the power lines while replacing the utility pole.
