Two boat crashes as Labor Day Weekend begins

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, there were two boat crashes Friday as the holiday weekend began.

The first happened in Lafayette County at 6:30 p.m. on the Missouri River. MSHP reports say two people were on the John Boat when they tried to maneuver over timber in the water. The timber impaled the boat and it began taking on water and sink. Neither passenger was injured.

The second crash happened in Morgan County at 8:55 p.m. on Lake of the Ozarks. MSHP says the boat hit a breakwater and suffered extensive damage. However, the boat was able to drive from the scene. Three people on board suffered minor injuries.
