Holts Summit man killed in Howard County rollover crash

Around 6 p.m. Saturday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Highway 5 in Howard County.

Troopers said the driver, Brock Griffith, 47, was driving eastbound on the highway when he drove off the left side of the road and overturned.

Griffith was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the crash report, he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

This is the 5th fatality in the state since the Highway Patrol beganOperation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) for the Labor Day holiday weekend. The counting period started at 6 p.m. Friday and lasts until 11:59 p.m. on Monday.
