Deputies: man arrested for allegedly showing firearm in threatening way
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office has arrest a man for allegedly threatening a person with a handgun.
According to investigators, Friday night around 6:30, deputies responded to the 500 block of Redwood Drive in New Bloomfield. The call was for a disturbance with a firearm. The suspect, identified as George Knox, allegedly displayed a shotgun in a threatening manner. Deputies say he left the area.
Later, Holts Summit Police stopped a car Knox was riding in. During the arrest, the found Knox to be in possession of a loaded shotgun with more ammunition in the car.
Knox was taken to the Callaway County Jail and is facing possible charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and armed criminal action.
According to Case.net, a public resource, Knox has past felony convictions in Miller county.
On August 27, 2016, Knox posted bond and was released from the Callaway County Jail pending court appearance.
