Storm chance Friday with a marginal severe threat

A few storms are possible Friday afternoon and evening as a weak frontal boundary near I-44 gradually lifts back to the north. Partial afternoon sunshine will cause pockets of moderate to strong instability to develop. Stronger mid-level winds will generate enough wind shear to allow storms to develop and strengthen. We have a marginal severe threat Friday afternoon and evening for the potential of isolated storms with strong wind of 58 mph or greater.

These storms will be hit and miss and many areas will stay dry. However, it might be a good idea to pack the rain poncho if you will be one of the high school football games in the evening in case one of these storms move over your area.
