Suspects from Mexico standoff, Pike County shooting captured in Columbia

UPDATE: 12:30 P.M.:Two people sought in connection with crimes in two Missouri counties were captured and arrested in Columbia Saturday.

Both suspects were captured and arrested in Columbia Saturday.

Police say at about 11 a.m. Saturday, Boone County Joint Communications dispatched officers to the area of Old Highway 63 and McAlester Street because there were reports that the two suspects, Michael Miller and Jessica Aschoff, both of Auxvasse, were seen in that area.

During the search, police spotted both of them walking on the 2500 block of Business Loop 70.

Police say they arrested both of them without incident. Miller is in the hospital with injuries not related to their capture.

Miller and Aschoff were transported back to Pike County Saturday evening.

According the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Miller is charged with first degree burglary, first degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon. Aschoff is charged with first degree burglary.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two people considered armed and dangerous and wanted in two Missouri counties were last spotted in Columbia Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said Michael Miller and Jessica Aschoff, both of Auxvasse, were reportedly dropped off at the Hardee’s on Paris Road sometime Thursday afternoon.

Miller and Aschoff have been on the run from law enforcement since Wednesday morning. The two are wanted in Pike County in connection to an armed robbery and shooting.Pike County deputies said Miller shot at a man near Gazette after he was caught stealing a lawn mower from a shed.

According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, another woman who was with them during the incident, Ellen Singleton, was taken into custody Thursday morning.

Miller and Aschoff apparently made their way to Audrain County Wednesday night where they broke into a home armed with a gun.

A standoff at the home in the 1700 block of Ashley Street started around 9 p.m. Wednesday. Officers said Miller and Aschoff got inside an apartment on the street and showed the woman inside a gun.

The woman was able to get out of the apartment and call for help.

Once authorities got inside the apartment, they said Miller and Aschoff were not in there. Officers said they believe the pairfled between the time of the 911 call and the arrival of the first officers.

The next confirmed sighting of the two was in Centralia in Boone County causing the schools to go on lockdown.

Maj. Matt Oller, with the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department said Miller and Aschoff were seen in Centralia asking people for rides. He said someone reported giving them a ride to Columbia Thursday afternoon and dropped them off at the Hardee’s.

Columbia police, Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Highway Patrol were all alerted of the sighting Thursday afternoon and began patrolling the area.

Miller was last seen wearing blue and gold athletic shots and a tank top. Aschoff was last seen wearing denim shorts and a grey sweater.

Authorities believe they made be heading toward Fulton and are possibly armed.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department, as of Thursday night, there have been no confirmed sightings of Miller or Aschoff.

Columbia police said they have received reports of sightings of the two, but none were confirmed as of Thursday night.
