Driver in deadly Columbia crash pleads guilty

A Columbia woman accused of causing a deadly crash on Scott Boulevard has pleaded guilty to amended charges.

Sophia Mosby had been charged with manslaughter in the September 2015 crash that killedJeffrey Jiang, 9, and his mother, Ping Gui. The Boone County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed Tuesday Mosby pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors, including careless driving and driving without a valid license.

Mosby was sentenced to six months at the Boone County jail, but the sentence was suspended. She will also be on probation for two years; if she violates her probation, she will go to jail.
