Cooler air and rain to start the weekend
Just as temperatures make it to near 90 this week, another cold front will move in and bring cooler air in time for the weekend. Ahead of this front, a few showers and t-storms are possible Friday but they will be hit and miss with the best chance late in the afternoon, increasing into late evening and overnight.
Rain looks more likely overnight Friday and through the first half of the day Saturday as the front slowly moves through the area. Severe storms are not expected but Friday evening a few stronger storms are possible.
On and off rain Saturday will taper off and push to the southeast overnight, ending early Sunday near I-44. Overall rainfall amounts are expected to come in at a half inch to one inch, highest in our western counties.
Daytime highs will only reach near 80 through early next week but it’s the nights which might catch your attention. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 50s Sunday and Monday nights, giving us a cool start to the work week.
