Highway Patrol identifies man killed in deadly Highway 124 crash

UPDATE 8/11, 3:00 p.m.: Highway Patrol has identified the man who died in Thursday morning’s crash on Highway 124 near Hallsville.

According to the crash report, 48-year-old Hamilton Richardson was driving a 1998 Chevy pick-up truck when he crossed over the center line and crashed head on with a dump truck.

The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. He was wearing a seat belt.

It’s not known at this time if Richardson was wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

8/11: Boone County EMA reported part of Highway 124 near Hallsville was blocked for several hours.

It happened in the 15000 block of Highway 124 just before 9:00 Thursday morning.

Boone County EMA reports Highway 124 between Old highway 124 and Schooler Road is blocked due to the crash.

ABC 17 News is hearing reports that two vehicles were off the road in the area and that crews were having to cut someone out of a vehicle. We’re working to confirm those reports with authorities.
