House in Jefferson City damaged by gunfire

Jefferson City police are looking into a shooting that damaged a house early Saturday morning.

At around 3:30 a.m., someone called 911 to report hearing 5-6 gunshots in the 700 block of Maple street. When officers got to the area, they found shell casings from a handgun in the road. One house had been hit numerous times by gunfire; there were people inside at the time, but no one was hurt.
