Heat Advisory Thursday

Temperatures will climb Thursday as humidity levels will be high due to recent rainfall. With mostly sunny skies, afternoon temperatures will reach the mid 90s but the humidity will make it feel hotter. The heat index, or what it feels like with factoring in humidity, will reach 100 by 1 PM and climb as high as 108.

A Heat Advisory begins at 1 PM and continues through 8 PM in most of Mid-Missouri due to heat indices at 103 to 108 in the advised area. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity can lead to an increased risk of heat-related stress and illness. The very young, elderly, those without air conditioning and those participating in strenuous outdoor activities will be most susceptible.
