Body identified from creek in downtown Jefferson City
UPDATE 8/2:Jefferson City Police have identified the body as 51 year-old Michael Guy, who is believed to be homeless staying in Jefferson City at the time of his death.
No cause of death yet has been determined.
Police are trying to reach out to family members but have been unsuccessful.
They are urging anyone that knows anything of Guy to contact Jefferson City Detective Edwards at 634-6400.
Police have confirmed that he has ties to Colorado.
ORIGINAL STORY:Crews in Jefferson City recovered a body from Wears Creak early Monday morning.
Jefferson City Fire Division Chief Jason Turner could not confirm the cause of death, but said the Jefferson City Police Department is investigating.
