Mid-Missouri counties ready for Tuesday’s election

Voters across the state will head to the polls Tuesday to vote for various candidates, and issues. Unlike, elections past county clerks say this election they are over prepared.

You might recall back in March, during the Presidential Primaries some counties ran out of ballots due to the higher voter turnout.

Osage and Miller County were two of the counties in Mid-Missouri that were short in ballots. However, this time around both counties say they are over prepared. With an expected turnout at about 40% in Osage County, they’ve ordered enough ballots for a 60% voter turnout. In Miller County, expected turnout is 30%, but they’ve ordered enough ballots for a 90% voter turnout.

Boone County voter turnout is expected to be about 30%, similar to those in years past. Boone County Clerk Wendy Noren says, “this election we’ve upgraded our software, we switched from computers to ipad’s- so there could be some delays in checking voters in but nothing substantial.”

County clerks want to remind voters to bring a government, or state ID. If you don’t have either, a city’s utility bill works fine.

Polls open at 6a.m. statewide, and close at 7p.m.
