Heat at night: not something to take lightly

Hot, humid, muggy nights aren’t going away anytime soon.

ABC 17 Stormtrack Chief Meteorologist Sharon Ray says throughout the weekend, and possibly seven to ten more days this humid weather could stick around.

Dr. Scott Shultz with Providence Urgent Care says there is no magic trick to not get heat related illnesses other than making sure you drink plenty of water, and knowing your body limits.

Activities done outside may seem like a good idea, but going off of the temperature isn’t enough. “You may not need to add sunscreen or pay attention to the sun as much, but all the environmental factors such as humidity can expose you to heat related illnesses,” Schultz said.
