Five young men robbed while playing Pokemon Go

Columbia Police were called to the Eagle Stop gas station near Bear Creek Trail and North Providence last Friday night for reports of a robbery with a gun.

Police said five men, ranging between the ages of 18 and 24, were walking in the area playing Pokemon Go.

The victims told police they saw a group of black men standing nearby.

The suspects reportedly began sprinting toward the victim, two of them armed with a gun, and robbed the victims.

One victim was hit by one of the suspects.

CPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is still working to determine if this robbery is related to the robberies reported earlier this week. Four armed robberies were reported on July 12, which police believe to be connected.
