Victim in deadly Camdenton crash identified

UPDATE: 11:20 a.m.: According to MSHP, 29-year-old Jamie Dever is the victim of an early morning crash near Camdenton.

MSHP says Dever was driving south on Hwy 5 when she crossed the center of the roadway. She hit a another car head-on.

Highway Patrol crash reports say Dever was not wearing a seatbelt.

This is Troop F’s 1st fatality for July and 34th for the year.

UPDATE: as of 9:15 a.m., MSHP says the fatal accident on Hwy 5 near Camdenton has been cleared.

Original story: There is a major accident at Missouri 5 and Bear Paw Road near Camelot Estates in Camdenton with one confirmed fatality.

Deputies from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol have been on scene since 4:30 this morning .

The MSHP accident reconstruction team is on scene and the road will possibly be shut down for several more hours.

All drivers are advised to use extreme caution and obey all traffic direction from law enforcement officers on scene.

If possible, seek a different route to your destination.
