Woman charged after chase
A woman was charged following a chase on I-70 that ended with her in the hospital.
Troopers were searching for Vanessa McKee in Montgomery County last week.
McKee allegedly ditched the stolen vehicle troopers were chasing in the area of Pinnacle Lake Road near High Hill in Montgomery County and, according to a witness, stole a pickup truck. Troopers found that truck abandoned a short time later.
McKee is accused of stealing a car and breaking into someone’s home.
Court documents claim she asked the residents of that home for duct tape and glue for her injuries and offered to pay for the broken window. The residents took her to the hospital.
Kansas City police think McKee is also wanted for shooting her ex-boyfriend in the arm last June.
McKee is now in the Clay County jail.
